Lumière and Chip

Are you excited for the Beauty and the Beast live action movie? I think BrickInNick is, based on this Lumière and Chip sculpture.

71040 Disney Castle

Hey, I know I've been absent from blogging for months, but this new set announcement brought me back. Today LEGO announced the upcoming set 71040 Disney Castle. It's due out September 1 for a painful $349, but it sure is nice to look at. The interior is full of little Easter eggs like Cinderella's shoe, Sleeping Beauty's spinning wheel, etc.

Stitch and his girlfriend

Will Ho made these adorable versions of Stitch and his girlfriend. I'm assuming that the girlfriend is from that TV show that spun off from the original movie. They even play their instruments.

Nautilus

I have a love-hate relationship with LEGO Ideas. I am so averse to just becoming a shill for a site that I think has a lot of negatives that I almost avoid blogging MOCs posted there. But there is a concerted community effort behind Orion Pax's Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and it's a truly outstanding model. This model only has 5 days before it expires, but it needs less than 150 votes, so please check it out and vote.

WALL-E

I know I'm posting this several days late, but LEGO officially unveiled the WALL-E LEGO Ideas set at the D23 Expo in Anneheim last weekend. Here is the set on display, along with designer Angus MacLane. I know regular readers of this blog know this, but in case someone is new here, Angus is an avid AFOL and member of the community, but he is is also part of Pixar, having worked on most of the movies since A Bug's Life. He submitted this LEGO rendition of everyone's favorite trash-compacting robot to LEGO Ideas and it was chosen to make into an official set.

Angus signed copies of the set for lucky expo attendees, including your friend who likes to play.

Here's the official box art (via BrickFan).

Princess galore

My daughter dressed as Merida for a Disney costume party, so I went looking for a Brave MOC to feature here. I found this great scene posted by Gregory Coquelz a year ago: .
